Senior Consultant – Data Modelling

The opportunity
EY is looking for Data Modelling resources.
Your key responsibilities
ü Analyzing and translating business needs into long-term solution data models.
ü Evaluating existing data systems.
ü Working with the development team to create conceptual data models and data flows.
ü Developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system.
ü Reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility.
ü Implementing data strategies and developing physical data models.
ü Updating and optimizing local and metadata models.
ü Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency.
ü Troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
Skills and attributes for success
ü Hands on experience as a Hadoop and Hive.
ü Knowledge with Teradata. Fastload.
ü Advanced knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem and its components.
ü In-depth knowledge of Hive, HBase, and Pig.
ü Familiarity with MapReduce and Pig Latin Scripts.
ü Knowledge of back-end programming languages like JavaScript, Node.js, and OOAD. (Just knowledge. It’s ok if they are not hands on.)
ü Familiarity with data loading tools including Sqoop and Flume.
ü High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
ü Good communication skills.
To qualify for the role, you must have
ü Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
ü Four years’ hands-on experience with physical and relational data modeling.
ü Expert knowledge of metadata management and related tools.
ü Knowledge of mathematical foundations and statistical analysis.
ü Strong interpersonal skills.
ü Experience with team management.
ü Excellent communication and presentation skills.
ü Advanced troubleshooting skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Excellent communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills
Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative
Ability and willingness to travel
