The Thermal Simulation Engineer role is to support development projects on the component and vehicle level with system simulation and deep know-how in thermal dynamics and optimization in energy flow and efficiency. The simulation engineer is required to develop and manage system level requirement to meet the needs of the customer, legislative authorities and functional safety. You will then work closely with other engineering disciplines to design and develop appropriate system solutions within the time and cost budgets of the project. The role includes the specification and execution of appropriate tests to verify the success of the developed systems.

Job Description:

·      Support thermal design development for several automotive electronic components

·      Conduct thermal simulation analysis from board to system level to verify thermal feasibility/risk

·      Development of 1D simulation models for components and subsystems for thermal management, cooling, heating and HVAC circuits

·      Build CFD models for components and thermal fluid analysis

·      Simulation support for drivetrain components and E/E Networks of electrical vehicles

·      Data analysis of simulation and measurement data

·      Provide high quality thermal solution/response to support RFQs

Job Requirements:

·      Degree-qualified in relevant engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Controls, Automotive)

·      Experience in simulation and model-based development

·      Strong knowledge of 3D CFD simulation.

·      Strong understanding of fundamentals of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics

·      Experience in Matlab/Simulink

·      Knowledge of overall vehicle development

·      Experience in Siemens PLM/Amesim, Star-CCM+, Modelica or similar 1D Simulation tools is a plus

·      Ability to break-down complex engineering problems into subsets that can be solved based on first principles
