We are looking for a Head of Engineering (f/m/x) to provide strategy, technical direction, organization and planning quality, as well as ongoing leadership for TRAKTOR Engineering. Besides working closely with the teams to implement our Tech strategy, you will help TRAKTOR Management to derive decisions for the Tech Roadmap and implement adequate strategies.

 

Our software developers are working in cross-functional teams by closely collaborating with designers, product specialists and power users. Based in Berlin, Kreuzberg, you will join an international, multicultural, and creative environment that supports individual growth and sharing knowledge.

 

What You’ll Do
Lead, manage and develop TRAKTOR Engineering to ensure they achieve the highest possible standards of excellence in all their activities
Write modern, clean and maintainable C++ code for application Software including embedded Software
Build up the future team on our growth journey and align Engineering resources with strategic goals
Implement a high performance team approach with execution mindset
Guide and mentor members of the team
Drive modernization of legacy codebase, as well as process improvement and automation
Work closely within TRAKTOR Management on Tech Strategy and Roadmap as well as effort estimations
Ensure benchmarking as well as a Tech Radar to monitor major technology trends and reveal opportunities or room for improvement
Owning budget responsibilities for your team

What You’ll Need
You are interested in the handcraft of DJing
Demonstrated professional experience in writing production code and a good knowledge of modern C++ and the C++ standard library
Entrepreneurial mindset – ability to identify and make the most of opportunities
Proven experience in leading Tech teams with hands-on mentality
Knowledge and passion about modern tech environments and Audio applications, etc.
You have the ability to evaluate the need for change and communicate the impact those changes will have on the business
Strong systemic thinking; data-driven decision making; ability to find root causes of issues and gain stakeholder support to address opportunities
Experience in fostering a strong engineering culture and collaboration
High level of organization and excellent time management skills
