We’re looking for a senior design leader who can manage and develop our team of designers, UX researchers and design managers to create the future of music software, services and hardware. We are looking for someone to help us lead and develop design across the entire organization, to simplify user experience from discovery and installation to usage and support. You will support us in further establishing design as a key driver for innovation, accessibility and commercial success.

 

 

What You’ll Do
Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, and working closely with Engineering and Marketing, you will be accountable for the overall experience of the NI user journey from the first touch point on the web across our entire product ecosystem.
You will lead design across the NI product ecosystem of award-winning music software and hardware as well as the customer & community experience on native-instruments.com
You are accountable for the design mission & strategy and will help us to implement processes and systems to come up with world class design at scale
You will help to establish a seamless user journey between all products & services and make our ecosystem accessible to the next generation of music creators
You will inspire, lead & develop the design team at NI consisting of more than 20 user interface, interaction & industrial designers and UX researchers working inside cross functional product development teams
As a part of the senior leadership team in product, engineering & marketing you will make sure design and its requirements and impact on the customer and business are represented and balanced appropriately
 

What You’ll Need
Your extensive experience in leading and mentoring digital design teams within complex or matrix style organisations will be critical for this role 
A broad knowledge relating to user centered design methodologies and how they can be applied in agile development setups for software and hardware products
Guided by your motivation for design innovation, your proven track record of modernizing and developing design across an entire user journey and ecosystem
Your demonstrated ability to influence others through thought leadership, your  collaborative approach and your commitment to champion our journey to become a more diverse and inclusive work space
As a key leader within our business, your ability to motivate and inspire design specialists across various design disciplines will be a key success factor and support your success in building and developing your team
Extensive experience setting up design strategy & processes
Strong  and persuasive communication skills, adaptable to various audiences – from executives to product owners and designers
Passion for music and deep desire to help creators succeed – an understanding of music creation and the music creator space is a plus.
